Who can go & When can we go?

Who can go on a Balkan Peace Adventure trip?

Who does well on these trips?

  • people with a sense of humor and a sense of adventure.

  • people who function well in a group, and can get by with limited "personal space" for a few days at a time.

  • people who like exploring new cultures and meeting new people.

  • people who care about peace.

  • people who like delicious ice cream.

Balkan Peace Adventures can take groups from all sorts of organizations:  schools, faith communities, community organizations, scout troops, businesses, and more!

Individual group members must meet the following criteria:

  • between ages 15 and 70.

  • physically and mentally healthy.  Travel can be stressful and physically and emotionally demanding.

  • have no medical or legal restrictions on traveling internationally.

  • have or can obtain a US passport or one from a country without travel restrictions to BiH.

  • must complete the required Child Protection Requirements (for individuals ages 18 and up).

Groups traveling with minors must have at least one adult age 25+ for every four teens in the group.

When can we schedule a Balkan Peace Adventure?

     When can we go?

Balkan Peace Adventures can be scheduled for any time of year - winter, spring, summer, or fall. The country is beautiful year-round, but travel in winter can be tricky due to the possibility of snow (remember, Sarajevo hosted the Winter Olympics in 1980!).

     How long are the Adventures?

They can be as short as five days or as long as three weeks! Most trips of this nature tend to be 6-12 days in length.

How far in advance does our Adventure need to be booked?

Anywhere from 3 to 18 months in advance.  We recommend 4-10 months for planning and preparations.  Balkan Peace Adventures will help every step of the way!
